Marathon Memories

A client brought me her t-shirts and sweater of the 10 marathons she ran, asking if I could make a wallhanging for her. We went back and forth a bit until we got it all sorted and then the quilt got prepped (interfacing), cut, sewn and quilted.
When she picked it up she really loved it! This is what she wrote me the next day:

I just wanted to thank you again for the beautiful quilt you made for me from my running shirts.  It is a most special treasure for me as achieving each one of those shirts represents such a special time in my life.  I couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful and artistic presentation!
Thank you!  Thank you!

The front of the quilt, 10 shirts with some sashing in between to make them all stand out and not blurr into one big shirt. The quilting emphasizes what’s on the shirt by “tracing” the important parts
The back, where the quilting is really visible. You can see where I followed around the pictures of the shirt. The label (blocked out in orange), contained my client’s name and the title of the quilt. The points at the top are the sleeve as the quilt will be hung with a Hangit Dangit bar.
